{"id":1009,"date":"2026-03-10T08:40:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T08:40:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=1009"},"modified":"2026-03-10T08:40:25","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T08:40:25","slug":"edinburgh-worldwide-proposes-offer-to-beat-saba-daily-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=1009","title":{"rendered":"Edinburgh Worldwide proposes offer to beat Saba \u2013 Daily Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <\/p>\n<p>Jonathan Simpson-Dent chairs the trust (pic: Terry Murden \/ DB Media Services)<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The board of Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust intends giving its shareholders an exit plan as part of its defence against constant attacks from a New York hedge fund.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">It is proposing a tender offer for up to 100% of its share capital as the board says it has \u201cexhausted every reasonable and equitable solution with Saba\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">It adds that Saba\u2019s \u201ccontinued campaign leaves it with no alternative but to propose a Tender Offer to enable eligible shareholders to elect for a significant return of capital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The offer would enable shareholders to retain potential upside from Elon Musk\u2019 SpaceX. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cThis is a key differentiator to Saba\u2019s recent proposal, which would force shareholders to either give up SpaceX or become trapped in a Saba-controlled vehicle,\u201d it says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Shareholders are urged to support the Tender Offer \u201cto secure a definitive and fair exit opportunity and bring closure to the uncertainty caused by Saba\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Tender Offer requires approval from a simple majority of votes cast (50%) and can therefore proceed independent of Saba\u2019s support.
