{"id":11322,"date":"2026-07-17T07:23:59","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T07:23:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=11322"},"modified":"2026-07-17T07:23:59","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T07:23:59","slug":"brewdog-owner-tells-watt-that-business-is-not-for-sale-daily-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=11322","title":{"rendered":"BrewDog owner tells Watt that business is &#8216;not for sale&#8217; \u2013 Daily Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <\/p>\n<p>BrewDog Inverurie was reopened as a \u2018community\u2019 pub<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">BrewDog co-founder James Watt\u2019s bid to buy back the business looks to have hit the buffers as the owner says it is not for sale.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Irwin Simon, chief executive of US company Tilray Brands, which bought the brewer and some pubs in March, said BrewDog would remain part of the group.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">His comments to CityAM come after Mr Watt announced that he had\u00a0formally submitted an offer\u00a0through his new venture, Second Best.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Watt set up BrewDog in Ellon, Aberdeenshire with school friend Martin Dickie in 2007, and it grew into a \u00a31 billion-plus multinational before collapsing into adminisration early this year and being sold to Tilray for just \u00a333 million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The company has since invested \u00a350m into the business and launched a range of US craft beers into its pubs, some of which have reopened.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Simon told\u00a0City AM\u00a0that BrewDog is \u201cnot for sale\u201d and remains \u201can integral part of Tilray\u201d. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Watt said that if his offer failed he would pursue Second Best as a standalone business. He launched Second Best with an invitation to thousands of BrewDog\u2019s former \u201cpunk\u201d shareholders to join him.
