{"id":11623,"date":"2026-07-21T07:17:19","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T07:17:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=11623"},"modified":"2026-07-21T07:17:19","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T07:17:19","slug":"who-is-new-energy-secretary-miatta-fahnbulleh-daily-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=11623","title":{"rendered":"Who is new Energy Secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh? \u2013 Daily Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <\/p>\n<p>Miatta Fahnbulleh will lead the energy strategy<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">One new name in the UK Cabinet is Miatta Fahnbulleh who replaces Ed Miliband as Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Ms Fahnbulleh, who was only elected in the 2024 landslide, has been working on policy ideas for a potential Burnham government since resigning as a junior communities minister in the aftermath of Labour\u2019s disastrous local election results in May.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">She previously served as Parliamentary under-secretary of state at the Ministry of Housing and has worked at the Energy Department where she focused on consumer issues and electricity prices.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">As Energy secretary, she will be expected to maintain momentum in the nation\u2019s offshore wind sector, but her views on oil &amp; gas are less clear.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Miliband, who, as architect of the Starmer government\u2019s energy policy, secured more than 13GW of offshore wind capacity across two procurement rounds and launched a \u00a31bn ($1.34bn) supply-chain initiative andwas hostile to more drilling for oil &amp; gas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Born in Liberia, she arrived in the UK as a five-year-old after her parents fled the country\u2019s civil war in 1986.
