{"id":11970,"date":"2026-07-24T22:11:02","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T22:11:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=11970"},"modified":"2026-07-24T22:11:02","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T22:11:02","slug":"capricorn-suitors-given-new-deadline-for-offers-daily-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=11970","title":{"rendered":"Capricorn suitors given new deadline for offers \u2013 Daily Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <\/p>\n<p>Capricorn Energy is in demand<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Capricorn Energy\u2019s rival suitors have been given a deadline by the Takeover Panel for making their intentions known.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The panel has ruled that Saudi invetment group Alamadiyaf al-Masiyyah and Samos must announce by 5pm on 11 August, whether they intend to make a firm offer for the Edinburgh-based oil and gas explorer whose principal interests are in north Africa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Samos Energy is a special situations investor in energy assets pursuing asset acquisitions and financings across the sector.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The London-headquartered group has a portfolio of oil and gas assets in Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The Samos proposal is worth 381p per share and values the company at $360m, an identical price to an offer from from Kurdistan, Iraq-focused peer\u00a0Genel Energy, as announced on 2 July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The deadline for Alamadiyaf al-Masiyyah and Samos is seven days before Capricorn\u2019s shareholder meeting on 18 August to approve the recommended all-cash acquisition by Genel Energy. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">All parties have accepted today\u2019s ruling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Capricorn was founded as Cairn Energy by former Scottish rugby international Bill Gammell.
