Rainbow Chicken has delivered a strong financial performance for the year ended 28 June 2026, in line with its projections.<\/p>\n
Revenue from operations rose 7.7% to R17.1 billion, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortisation and impairment (Ebitda) doubled to R2.1 billion.<\/p>\n
The group released its financial results in a Sens on Friday.<\/p>\n
It said earnings per share (EPS) also more than doubled to 149.55 cents and headline earnings per share (Heps) is at 150.87 cents, up 130%.<\/p>\n

The JSE-listed producer attributed this standout performance primarily to favourable market conditions, including higher demand for poultry products and lower commodity prices.<\/p>\n
This was complemented by strong agricultural and operational performance, together with cost efficiencies.<\/p>\n
Performance by divisions<\/p>\n
The chicken division achieved exceptional performance in the current year, due to firm pricing, a more strategic product mix and improved agricultural and operational performance.<\/p>\n
The animal feed division continued to focus on higher-margin volumes, delivering improved profitability despite lower selling prices associated with softer raw material commodity prices.<\/p>\n
Within the waste-to-value division, the group said the Rustenburg plant demonstrated improved performance, however, it continues to be an area of \u201cstrategic focus of management\u201d.<\/p>\n

During the year under review, the group maintained a strong financial position, with cash and cash equivalents increasing to R2.4 billion at year end, supported by improved profitability, strategic capital allocation and low gearing levels.<\/p>\n
As a result, the board has approved a net final dividend of 36 cents per share (it was 16 cents per share in 2025) and a net special dividend of 60 cents per share.<\/p>\n
