Good Energy has swooped on a Scottish company<\/p>\n
An energy company with ties to a member of the United Arab Emirates\u2019 ruling family has acquired a Scottish solar panel business.<\/p>\n
Good Energy\u2019s acquisition of Glasgow-based Low Energy Services (LES) is its fifth solar deal in 18 months.<\/p>\n
LES is a commercial solar\u00a0panel\u00a0installer\u00a0servicing Scotland and the\u00a0North East\u00a0of England 2018.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Last year, Good Energy was\u00a0acquired\u00a0by\u00a0Esyasoft, the UAE-linked smart grid technology company, in a deal close to \u00a3100 million.<\/p>\n
It aims to\u00a0support the expansion and scale of Good Energy\u2019s services into new markets \u201cand become a nationwide\u00a0one-stop\u00a0energy provider\u00a0for green-minded customers\u201d.<\/p>\n
The LES deal follows the acquisitions of\u00a0Empower Energy,\u00a0Amelio Solar,\u00a0Wessex Eco Energy\u00a0and\u00a0JPS Renewable Energy\u00a0over the past 18 months, now all\u00a0operating\u00a0under the Good Energy brand.<\/p>\n
Esyasoft is ultimately controlled by the Abu Dhabi International Holding Company, which is the investment firm chaired by Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the son of the United Arab Emirates\u2019 founder, and part of Abu Dhabi\u2019s ruling family.<\/p>\n
Jason Lowey, director at Low Energy Services, added:\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m\u00a0incredibly proud of the Low Energy Services team and what\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0built, and joining Good Energy Group feels like a fantastic next step for the company.\u201d<\/p>\n
