{"id":17911,"date":"2026-10-09T19:01:57","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T19:01:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=17911"},"modified":"2026-10-09T19:01:57","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T19:01:57","slug":"john-clark-profits-fall-for-third-year-in-a-row-daily-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=17911","title":{"rendered":"John Clark profits fall for third year in a row \u2013 Daily Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <\/p>\n<p>Chris Clark: credit to the staff (pic: John Clark Motor Group)<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Profits fell at John Clark Motor Group fell for a third consecutive year as it was forced to absorb higher employment costs and supply chain disruption.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The Aberdeen-headquartered company said turnover for the year to the end of December 2025 remained above \u00a31 billion but profit before tax fell to \u00a312.9m from \u00a319m in the previous year, \u00a322.9m in 2023 and \u00a325.3m in 2022. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Wage increases and the continuing impact of the rise in national insurance contributions weighed on margins. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The group was also hit by the cyber attack on Jaguar Land Rover\u2019s IT systems which fed through to dealers. Used-car prices weakened sharply in the latter part of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Trading in the first half of 2026 suggests an improved performance as profit before tax was ahead of the same period last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Chris Clark, group managing director, said: \u201c2025 threw a great deal at us: a tough economy, falling used car values, and the cyber-attack on Jaguar Land Rover, which hit vehicle supply to our Land Rover customers just as the busy September registration plate-change period got underway.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Paying tribute to the group\u2019s 1,600 staff, he added: \u201cTo stay above \u00a31bn in turnover and to strengthen our balance sheet again in those circumstances is a credit to every one of them. We head into the balance of 2026 with confidence and momentum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">John Clark has expanded its representation of newer Chinese brands.
