{"id":19010,"date":"2026-10-25T18:23:58","date_gmt":"2026-10-25T18:23:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=19010"},"modified":"2026-10-25T18:23:58","modified_gmt":"2026-10-25T18:23:58","slug":"rolls-royce-close-to-government-deal-on-new-engine-daily-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=19010","title":{"rendered":"Rolls-Royce close to government deal on new engine \u2013 Daily Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <\/p>\n<p>Rolls-Royce plant near Glasgow airport<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Rolls-Royce is hoping to secure a \u00a3200 million government subsidy to build the next generation of jet engines for short-haul aircraft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Reports suggest talks have resumed between the company and Labour ministers after they were put on hold following the departure of Sir Keir Starmer from Number Ten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The new government demanded time to consider the plans which would see Rolls-Royce re-enter the \u00a31.6 trillion market for engines for narrow-bodied aircraft after an absence for 15 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">A decision could come ahead of the Budget and is being billed as a big statement of intent around Andy Burnham\u2019s \u2018re-industrialisation\u2019 agenda.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The Government has been warned that unless it provides financial support, the firm could seek to develop the engines abroad, which would be a major blow to UK growth ambitions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Rolls-Royce chief executive Tufan Erginbilgic has turned the company\u2019s fortunes around but wants a decision before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking at the Farnborough International Airshow in July, he said: \u201cIf you want economic growth, this will transform it, this will contribute significantly without any doubt.
