CVC Capital Partners, the global private markets manager, is establishing a base in Edinburgh, boosting the city\u2019s asset management sector.<\/p>\n
The new office in South Gyle will be home to 20 employees as the firm builds its presence in the city and draws on Scotland\u2019s deep pool of financial and professional talent.<\/p>\n
The firm sees it as an important step in the group\u2019s global business operations.<\/p>\n
Ken Young, chief operating officer, said: \u201cThere is a fantastic pool of talent in Edinburgh, thanks to the city\u2019s history as one of the world\u2019s first global financial centres and as a birthplace of the modern asset management industry. <\/p>\n

\u201cEdinburgh combines a remarkable financial heritage with a thriving, modern professional community. We\u2019re starting with a small team, but we see real potential to grow our presence here.\u201d<\/p>\n
Over 40 years, CVC has established a network of 31 offices across six continents, building one of the most geographically diverse and long-established footprints of any private markets firm worldwide. Closing is subject to regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n
It has approximately \u20ac205 billion of assets under management. Funds managed or advised by CVC\u2019s private equity strategy are invested in more than 150 companies worldwide, which have combined annual sales of over \u20ac240bn and employ more than 660,000 staff.<\/p>\n
