{"id":2130,"date":"2026-03-23T19:57:23","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T19:57:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=2130"},"modified":"2026-03-23T19:57:23","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T19:57:23","slug":"alexander-tops-up-mossmorran-workers-fund-daily-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=2130","title":{"rendered":"Alexander tops up Mossmorran workers&#8217; fund \u2013 Daily Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <\/p>\n<p>Mossmorran closed last month<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Investors are still being sought to replace the 400 jobs lost at the Mossmorran ethylene plant which closed last month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The UK Government has pledged up to \u00a39 million following a similar sum provided by the Scottish Government in January.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">However, Scottish Secretary Douglas Alexander said funding depends on suitable investment proposals being brought forward and approved, and appropriate commercial partners being identified.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The announcement by the UK government was made as the Fife Council-led taskforce met today, bringing together local elected representatives, employers, Fife Council and the Scottish Government.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Deputy First minister Kate Forbes announced Holyrood\u2019s support ahead of ExxonMobil shutting the40-year-old Fife facility.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Mr Alexander said: \u201cThe UK Government stands ready to invest up to \u00a39 million in Mossmorran\u2019s future.
