The SNP is on course to achieve a majority in the Holyrood parliament after a new survey suggested it would win 67 seats.<\/p>\n
It predicts that Labour would lose all but one constituency seat \u2013 meaning that its deputy leader Jackie Baillie\u00a0would lose her seat.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The MRP poll, conducted by Electoral Calculus and Find Out Now, shows the SNP 16 points ahead on the constituency ballot, with Labour and Reform fighting for second\u00a0place.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Scottish Labour\u00a0would take 17 seats, while Reform UK would win 14, the\u00a0Scottish Greens\u00a014, the Scottish\u00a0Tories\u00a09 and the Liberal Democrats 8.<\/p>\n
Announcing the result of the poll, SNP campaign director Angus Robertson said it would \u201cunlock independence\u201d but insisted the party was prioritising key issues such as the cost of living and the NHS.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is yet another\u00a0very positive\u00a0poll showing that we are on the verge of a historic majority which will unlock the fresh start of independence and lock Nigel\u00a0Farage from power in Scotland.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut there is absolutely no room for complacency \u2013 we will be working hard for every vote between now and May 7th.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are the only party with a positive vision for Scotland\u2019s future\u00a0\u2013 and if re-elected we will deliver a huge increase in support for childcare, \u00a310,000 help towards a deposit for first time buyers and will always put Scotland\u2019s interests first.\u00a0<\/p>\n
