That offer was provisionally accepted with \u201crevised terms and conditions\u201d communicated by Eskom\u2019s board, the venture said in an emailed statement on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>While the development is \u201csignificant and positive,\u201d final acceptance remains subject to approval by South Africa\u2019s other main ferrochrome firm, Samancor Chrome, and the country\u2019s energy regulator, according to the statement.<\/p>\n<p>ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>CONTINUE READING BELOW<\/p>\n<p>Read: Glencore-Merafe\u00a0chrome smelter deal with Eskom hits a snag<\/p>\n<p>South Africa is the world\u2019s biggest producer of the key ingredient in stainless steel, but its processing industry has been hammered by rocketing electricity prices and fierce competition from China, the top ferrochrome maker.
