Two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray has led the tributes to younger brother Jamie after his decision to retire from playing.<\/p>\n
The 40-year-old has hung up his racquet with seven Grand Slam titles to his name, after a hugely successful career which saw him become the first British doubles player to claim the world no. 1 spot.<\/p>\n
Explaining how proud he was of his achievements in a video message posted on X by the Lawn Tennis Association, Andy said his sibling was \u201cone of the best doubles players the UK\u2019s ever had.<\/p>\n
\u201cJamie, I\u2019m not sure what I loved more when we were kids, being on court with you or winding you up. But I know the way we pushed each other helped us both go as far as we did.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur first Olympics in Beijing, to winning the Davis Cup. All those ties back in Scotland, I\u2019ll always owe you for that final match on Centre Court.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt meant everything to share that with you and now it\u2019s your turn to call it a day. I know you\u2019re ready. I just hope you know how proud we all are of you.<\/p>\n

Jamie\u2019s first Grand Slam men\u2019s doubles title came in the 2016 Australian Open with partner Bruno Soares, with the pair being crowned US Open champions later that same year.<\/p>\n
Five mixed doubles titles were also captured, two coming at Wimbledon with Jelena Jankovic in 2007 and Martina Hingis in 2017, while he won two of his 34 doubles titles with his brother.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy tennis journey comes to an end after 36 years,\u201d Murray said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel very fortunate and privileged for all the amazing experiences this great sport has given me.<\/p>\n
\u201cThanks Mum, Dad, Andy, Ale, Alan, Louis and Thomas for all your incredible support, efforts and sacrifices throughout my career that allowed me to achieve everything I could in the game.<\/p>\n
