Scottish Renewables has announced that chief executive Claire Mack will step down after nine years in the role. She will remain in post while the recruitment process for her successor is underway.<\/p>\n
Ms Mack\u2019s tenure has coincided with a significant shift in energy policy towards the renewables sector.<\/p>\n
In 2025 she was\u00a0a recipient of\u00a0the OBE for services to the economy and business.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cIt has been a privilege to lead Scottish Renewables from the front for the past nine years. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved during this time \u2014 strengthening the voice of the sector and advocating to cement Scotland\u2019s leadership position in renewable generation.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is now the right time for me to move on to the next stage of my professional journey, and I leave confident that the organisation is in an excellent position and safe in the hands of the board and a fantastic team. <\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to thank members, partners and colleagues for their unwavering support over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n
Susie Lind, chair of Scottish Renewables, commented: \u201cClaire has worked tirelessly over the past nine years to champion for the sector in Scotland. Under her leadership, Scottish Renewables has grown in impact and influence. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe are very grateful for the commitment she has shown to the organisation and the sector, and wish her well in the next stage of her career.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe look forward to appointing a new chief executive who will lead the organisation, and be a strong voice for our members.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Mack is the latest leader of a Scottish trade group to step down and the third female following the retirement of Liz Cameron as chief executive of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce and Karen Meechan, CEO of ScotlandIS.<\/p>\n
