When visits drop to Las Vegas, there’s a ripple effect across the entire Las Vegas Strip. Fewer visitors doesn’t just mean that Caesars and MGM Resorts International see occupancy rates fall, and gambling revenues decline.<\/p>\n
Shows sell fewer tickets, bars sling fewer drinks, restaurants serve fewer meals, and basically every part of the Strip economy suffers.<\/p>\n
“Las Vegas welcomed 38.5 million visitors in 2025, a 7.5% decrease compared to 2024, reflecting a year shaped by shifting travel dynamics, economic uncertainty, and evolving policy conditions,” according to data from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA).<\/p>\n
The city’s struggles were even worse to close the year.<\/p>\n
“December visitation totaled 3.1 million visitors, down 9.2% year over year. While leisure and international visitation faced headwinds during the year, convention activity remained a stabilizing force,” the LVCVA reported.<\/p>\n
Annual hotel occupancy averaged 80.3%, down 3.3% points year over year. Average daily room rate averaged $183.52, down 5.0%, while RevPAR reached $147.30, down 8.8%.<\/p>\n
The LVCVA tried to offer some perspective on the year relative to the rest of the United States.<\/p>\n
“Las Vegas continued to fill more hotel rooms on average than any other U.S. city on any given night. With approximately 150,300 hotel rooms, Las Vegas maintains the largest hotel inventory in the U.S. and second in the world. Las Vegas\u2019 80.3% occupancy compares to a U.S. hotel occupancy average of 62.3%,” the LVCVA shared.<\/p>\n
Still, while the numbers compare well to other cities, that’s cold comfort for businesses that saw a drop in customers, including Feel Good Brands (FGB) Big Top LLC, the company that runs the food court at Circus Circus, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on April 16, according to court documents on PacerMonitor.<\/p>\n
Feel Good Brands files Chapter 11 bankruptcy<\/p>\n
“FGB BIG TOP, LLC filed a 11 chapter bankruptcy in the District of Nevada bankruptcy court on April 16, 2026. This is a voluntary filing; it was assigned the bankruptcy case number #26-12403,” according to Bankruptcy Observer. <\/p>\n
The bankruptcy petition for FGB BIG TOP, LLC showed assets in the range of $1 million to $10 million with liabilities in the same rangeFGB BIG TOP, LLC reports that the number of creditors is in the range of 1-49.

Feel Good Brands also operates the food courts at TI and Excalibur.<\/p>\n
While neither Circus Circus nor FGB has commented on the Chapter 11 filing, there were signs of problems.<\/p>\n

“Apparently, the Circus Circus food court was shut down for a day in mid-April due to past-due rent,” Casino.org reported. “The food court was reopened a day later because bankruptcy provides protection from creditors (like Circus Circus) trying to collect debts, at least temporarily. It’s called an ‘automatic stay.'”<\/p>\n
The food court has returned to normal operations.<\/p>\n
FGB did not immediately return a request for comment from TheStreet.<\/p>\n
Circus Circus has remained a value-based, family-friendly Las Vegas Strip resort casino.<\/p>\n

Circus Circus’ food court launched in 2021<\/p>\n
“Encompassing nearly 15,000 square feet, the expansive, newly-constructed eatery was one of the most extensive construction projects to take place at the property in decades,” What Now Las Vegas reported in 2021.<\/p>\n
At the time of launch, the food court, which was next to the casino floor, offered a number of choices, including\u00a0Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen,\u00a0Pick Up Stix, Dairy Queen Grill & Chill,\u00a0and\u00a0Einstein Bros. Bagels.<\/p>\n
The Circus Circus does not offer a specific listing for the food court, but shows Popeyes, Starbucks, Burger King, Einstein Bros., Krispy Kreme, Pickup Sitx, and Cocolini under the “Quick Bites” section of the dining page on its website.<\/p>\n
On a visit to the food court earlier this year, it contained a Burger King, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and Pick Up Stix, which Casino.org confirmed are still the brands represented now. <\/p>\n
In addition to its food courts, Feel Good Brands’ website shows that it also has operations at the MGM Grand Resort Casino.<\/p>\n
“Business has slowed dramatically at the Circus Circus food court because, reportedly, business has slowed dramatically at Circus Circus. As hotel occupancy goes, so goes food court revenue,” according to Casino.org’s Vital Vegas.<\/p>\n
The website suggested that Circus Circus was ready to step in and take over the operation of its food court, but a Chapter 11 filing would forestall that. <\/p>\n
As a private company, Circus Circus does not disclose sales or occupancy data.<\/p>\n
LVCVA leadership has acknowledged increased price sensitivity among visitors, a trend that typically impacts value-oriented Strip properties first during periods of softer demand.<\/p>\n
“There’s an affordability aspect. There is a sensitivity to what our customers can afford that has been heightened because of the uncertainty,” LVCVA CEO Steve Hill said during a discussion on the economy at The Nevada Independent’s IndyFest conference. “We talk a lot about value, and it’s been a value conversation over the last four or five months.”<\/p>\n
Barclays analysts have noted that Las Vegas demand softness has been concentrated in the middle and lower tiers of the market, highlighting uneven performance across the Strip.<\/p>\n
“Las Vegas\u2019 value proposition has been under scrutiny since last summer, creating a headwind to growth except in high-end properties, as the U.S. economy is no longer robust enough to support Las Vegas hotel pricing that remains approximately 40% higher than 2019 levels,” Barclays analysts said, as reported by Investing.com.<\/p>\n
