Jon Stanton: stepping down<\/p>\n
Jon Stanton, chief executive of Weir Group, has announced his retirement and will be succeeded by Andrew Neilson.<\/p>\n
The Glasgow-headquartered company, which no longer manufactures in Scotland, has been pivoted around mining technology under Stanton\u2019s tenure.<\/p>\n
He will have completed ten years in post when he leaves in August.<\/p>\n
Mr Neilson, currently opresident of the minerals division, has a strong track record in expanding markets and transforming operations, and will receive a base salary of \u00a3825,000, along with standard benefits and eligibility for annual bonus and restricted share plans. <\/p>\n
Mr Stanton will remain with the company as an advisor until April 2027 and will continue to support the board on strategic matters.<\/p>\n
He said:\u00a0\u201cIt has been an immense privilege to lead Weir but after ten years and with the company in great shape it is the right time for a leadership transition. <\/p>\n
