Glasgow Fort, the shopping park on the city\u2019s eastern fringe, is planning a 60,000 sq ft expansion which will see the Marks & Spencer store become the biggest in the country.<\/p>\n
M&S would increase its store by more than 32,000 sq ft and able to offer customers a wider range of products.<\/p>\n
Glasgow Fort would also enhance its leisure offering, with bowling, arcades, and a range of other attractions.<\/p>\n
The application follows two public consultations, which were held last year and build on a period of strong performance at the centre.<\/p>\n
Phil Goodman, centre director at Glasgow Fort, said:\u00a0\u201cWe know people are looking for more choice and more to do when they visit us, and these plans are about creating a better overall experience for our visitors.<\/p>\n
\u201cA bigger M&S would mean an improved range and easier shopping, while the new leisure options would give people even more ways to enjoy their time here \u2013 whether that\u2019s a shopping trip, a meal out or a fun day with family and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n
In 2025, Glasgow Fort recorded its highest-ever visitor numbers, with footfall increasing by 8% in the last 12 months.<\/p>\n
