{"id":5895,"date":"2026-05-09T01:35:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-09T01:35:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=5895"},"modified":"2026-05-09T01:35:15","modified_gmt":"2026-05-09T01:35:15","slug":"nike-sued-over-alleged-failure-to-refund-tariff-costs-to-consumers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=5895","title":{"rendered":"Nike sued over alleged failure to refund tariff costs to consumers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\"https:\/\/static.foxbusiness.com\/foxbusiness.com\/content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Nike-Store.jpg\" \/>     <\/p>\n<p>Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Chair Andrew Lucas says a lawsuit alleges \u2018race discrimination\u2019 against the entire corporate workforce at Nike on \u2018The Bottom Line.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nike is facing a new class action lawsuit accusing the company of failing to refund tariff-related costs it passed on to consumers through higher prices.<\/p>\n<p>In the proposed lawsuit, consumers argue Nike should not be allowed to keep &#8220;significant&#8221; refunds it may receive after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in February that the president lacked authority under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to impose certain tariffs.<\/p>\n<p>Nike has said it paid roughly $1 billion in tariffs on imported goods as a result of those actions. Plaintiffs allege the company raised prices on some footwear by $5 to $10 and on some apparel by $2 to $10 to offset those costs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nike has made \u200bno legally binding commitment to return tariff-related overcharges to \u200bthe consumers who actually paid them,&#8221; the complaint, filed in federal court in Portland, Oregon, states.<\/p>\n<p>TRUMP RAMPS UP TARIFFS ON EUROPEAN CARS IMPORTED INTO US<\/p>\n<p>Nike is facing a class action lawsuit alleging the company failed to refund tariff-related costs passed on to consumers through higher prices.
