{"id":6750,"date":"2026-05-20T13:45:23","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T13:45:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=6750"},"modified":"2026-05-20T13:45:23","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T13:45:23","slug":"gilruth-to-help-swinney-focus-on-peoples-priorities-daily-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stock999.top\/?p=6750","title":{"rendered":"Gilruth to help Swinney focus on &#8216;people&#8217;s priorities&#8217; \u2013 Daily Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <\/p>\n<p>Jenny Gilruth: new deputy first minister<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Former Scottish Education Secretary Jenny Gilruth has been appointed Deputy First Minister as  John Swinney promises to focus on \u2018people\u2019s priorities\u2019. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Ms Gilruth will step into the role last occupied by Kate Forbes who did not seek re-election to the Scottish parliament.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The pledge on \u201cpeople\u2019s priorities\u201d is likey to prompt calls for Mr Swinney to drop his independence campaign, an issue that features low on the list of voters\u2019 priorities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Ivan McKee is expected to be promoted from his role in the last government as public finance minister.
