The Amazon comparison gets the headlines. The AI story deserves equal attention.<\/p>\n
Nearly 60% of the code Airbnb engineers produce is now co-authored with AI. That is roughly twice the estimated industry average, according to the shareholder letter. That’s not a vanity metric. It means faster shipping, quicker iteration, and more product improvements per engineering dollar spent.<\/p>\n
The customer support results are the clearest proof:<\/p>\n

GBV is expected to grow in the low double digits YoY, with nights and seats booked growth decelerating slightly relative to Q1 due to the Middle East headwind.<\/p>\n
For the full year, Airbnb raised its revenue growth guidance to the low-to-mid teens and reiterated an adjusted EBITDA margin of at least 35%. The upward revision reflects progress across growth initiatives and improvements to monetization through a simplified fee structure and expanded insurance programs expected to lift the full-year take rate.<\/p>\n

Looking further, Booking Holdings (BKNG) and Expedia Group (EXPE) – the competitors Chesky is directly targeting with the platform expansion – have more diversified travel inventory today.
