JSE-listed African Media Entertainment (AME) has reported a double-digit improvement in dividends for the year to end-March.<\/p>\n
The group of Friday declared a final dividend of 380 cents per share, lifting the dividend for the full year to 500 cents per share \u2013 11% higher than the 450 cents per share dividend declared in the previous year.<\/p>\n
Shares in AME remained unchanged on the JSE at mid-morning on Friday at R49.00 per share.<\/p>\n

AME chairperson Connie Molusi said the group improved its overall financial performance in the year to end-March.<\/p>\n
This follows AME\u2019s strong financial performance in the previous year.<\/p>\n

Molusi said innovation and revenue enhancing initiatives remain imperative and are beginning to show positive outcomes as evidenced by the overall improvement in results.<\/p>\n
He said the varied performances of the business units are a reflection of the successes and challenges in the different economic segments.<\/p>\n

AME, which owns radio assets and a portfolio of digital media services, publishing and business broadcasting assets, on Friday reported a 14% increase in group revenue to R359.7 million from R314.9 million.<\/p>\n
This resulted in a 9.3% improvement in operating profit to R68.3 million from R62.5 million in the previous year.<\/p>\n
Headline earnings per share (Heps) for the year increased by 17.8% to 887.7 cents from 753.7 cents. Cash generated by the group grew by 16.6% to R61.9 million from R53.1 million after paying tax of R18.7 million.<\/p>\n
The group ended the reporting period with a cash balance of R86.5 million, 2.7% higher than the R84.2 million in the previous year.<\/p>\n
Molusi said Algoa FM results for the year are influenced by a gruelling local economy and an arduous market, which proved to be tougher than anticipated.<\/p>\n
But Molusi said strategic management of financial resources throughout the year resulted in effective operating expenditure savings.<\/p>\n
Resilient performance in a tough environment<\/p>\n
He said the group gained control of Mokgosi Holdings during the year through board control, which together with its subsidiary New Africa Investments (Pty) Ltd, are both investment companies holding 29.92% interest in the associate Kaya FM (Pty) Ltd.<\/p>\n
He said Mokgosi and New Africa Investments are now consolidated into the group from date of control as of 2 February 2026.<\/p>\n

He said Moneyweb\u2019s revenue grew across both radio and digital, with the business returning to profitability after a previously challenging period, which reflects stronger sales execution and a clearer strategic focus, with positive momentum now in place.<\/p>\n
Molusi added that audience engagement remains solid, supported by consistent website traffic and growing digital participation.<\/p>\n
