The company confirmed that the cyber incident was identified on 15 July 2026, impacting specific operational systems and IT networks.

Rectron stated that forensic investigations remain underway to determine the precise nature and scope of any compromised information, as well as to evaluate the broader operational impact on its business.

The company cautioned against early conclusions while technical teams continue their assessment: “At this stage, it would be inappropriate to speculate on the cause, scope or operational implications of the incident.”

Communication framework for stakeholders

Characterising the breach as a “developing situation”, Rectron committed to publishing rolling updates for customers and channel partners as verified findings emerge.

Due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing technical investigation, the distributor confirmed it will not respond to individual media inquiries in the interim, directing stakeholders to rely strictly on formal company announcements: “Rectron appreciates the understanding of its customers, partners and the broader public as it works to resolve the matter with urgency and care.”
