Umega group is on the hunt for further acquisitions following its purchase of Dundee lettings agency Easylets in the summer.

The Easylets deal was was completed three months ago but has just been made public. It became the sixth agency to join the group since 2015.

Easylets founder Jack Reavley remains a shareholder and continues to lead the business in Dundee, backed by Umega’s marketing, technology and operations teams.

“I built Easylets over 25 years and I wasn’t ready to walk away from it,” said Mr Reavley. “With Umega I didn’t have to.

“I’m now a partner in the business and I’m still here for our landlords, but I’m spending far less time on the day to day and far more on the parts I love and where I can have the most impact. Having Umega’s marketing team behind us has been a real step change.”

The combined group now manages more than 3,800 homes across Edinburgh, East Lothian and Dundee, making it the second-largest residential lettings business in Scotland.

Andy Whitmey, co-founder and chief revenue officer at Umega, said: “We’re actively looking to move into new territories across Scotland and for further acquisitions in Edinburgh and Dundee.

“If you own a lettings agency anywhere in Scotland and you’re starting to think about what comes next, I’d welcome a confidential conversation where we can discuss possible ways forward for you that you might not have thought were possible.

“There’s no pressure and no obligation. Just an honest chat about what you want and how we could make it work.”

Commenting on the Easylets deal, Neil McInnes, co-founder and managing director of Umega, said: “This was never just about a great deal for Jack. It’s about how we can combine our expertise and resources to make things even better for Easylets customers and the team, without losing what they already have. Easylets is a well established name in Dundee and we never considered changing it.”
