Glamping became popular a few years ago, and I think we can even say the trend went viral. This innovative way of camping opened up a whole new world for travelers, as it allows people who would usually prefer a hotel to experience the great outdoors while remaining comfortable and secure without breaking the bank. As you’ve probably seen online, there are tons of possibilities one can do with a luxurious tent like this. Some transform the inside into a hotel-style bedroom, with the right accessories, of course, while others keep it simple with the usual camping gear like a blow-up mattress and coolers. Either way, this type of tent holds up well and can have many pros compared to traditional options. 

My first “glamping” trip was spent in a tent just like this one. It’s made of a waterproof polyester cotton blend canvas that’s durable, yet lightweight and weather resistant. It’s also breathable, so you don’t have to worry about the inside of the tent becoming stale, the way I can attest that non-breathable polyethylene tents do. The tent also comes with a rain cap to protect from additional water wear. Setup of the yurt-style tent is quick and easy, with 10 nylon ropes and tensioners forming the primary basis for raising the roof, so to speak. There is a double zip front door, which is extra wide. Having a second door on the other side would be convenient, though having just one isn’t a nuisance.

In addition to the rain cap, 10 nylon ropes, and 10 tensioners, the package also includes ground stakes, a hammer, a tent bag, and storage bags with handles to make transport and storage a breeze. On my maiden glamping voyage with the family, I found the round floor design to offer a far roomier feel than the square or rectangular tents that I was used to. This model has dimensions of 9.8 feet in diameter by 6.5 feet high. It’s stated to fit up to four people comfortably. That said, the edges are less than half the height of the center post, meaning the edges are fine for sleeping, but not standing.

The central post is made from iron and can easily withstand moderate wind and rain pressure without bending or buckling. There’s even a stove jack and fire-resistant flap if you want to bring a means of heating with you on your trip. I found that this kind of tent makes camping far more comfortable than I always thought it had to be. I realized that you don’t necessarily have to rough it in order to be a real camper.
