Juliet Simpson: departed

Stripe Communications chief executive and founder Juliet Simpson has left the business which is merging with sister agency Leith.

Ms Simpson set up Stripe 21 years ago and the brand will be retained with no disruptions to the ongoing work. There are not thought to be any other departures.

A spokesman told Daily Business that the two will “integrate their capabilities to capitalise on the strengths of each business.

“The Stripe organisation will continue to operate as it has, with no disruptions to ongoing work or day-to-day business operations as a result, and no current plans to change their teams, offerings, office locations, or reporting structure.”

The announcement follows a number of other recent developments in the communications sector.

Daily Business revealed that an undisclosed number of Glasgow staff at PR agency Smarts had been made redundant and that it had withdrawn from some client work.

This followed Edinburgh-based Halogen Communications appointing liquidators.

It was set up by former Tory MP and government minister Raymond Robertson and ex-civil servant John Crawford.
