Jet Connectivity is reaching remote parts with 5G services

A Scottish investment syndicate has invested in a UK company offering a rival 5G connectivity service to Elon Musk’s Starlink.

Tricapital has proviced £1.2million in Series A fudning to JET Connectivity to accelerate its technology.

JET has developed land and sea-based alternatives to satellite networks such as Starlink and brings secure, high-bandwidth communications to offshore, coastal and remote sites that conventional networks cannot reach.

The funding round was led by Tricapital Angels, with participation from private investors and The FSE Group.

Moray Martin, CEO of Tricapital, said: “JET Connectivity exemplifies the kind of ambitious, technically brilliant company that this country excels at producing.”

JET’s product range includes a compact buoy designed for rivers and coastal areas, a mid-size platform offering data collection and 5G coverage over wider maritime zones, and an offshore station capable of supporting year-round connectivity miles from shore.

On land, its pop-up base stations and rugged routers provide temporary or fixed 5G hotspots for ports, airfields, manufacturing sites, and emergency response operations.

James Thomas, CEO of JET Connectivity, said: “This investment marks a pivotal moment in our journey. With the support of Tricapital Angels and FSE, we are now positioned to meet the rapidly evolving requirements of organisations operating in complex and infrastructure-constrained environments.”
